Skippack House Fire

Skippack Fire Company was dispatched for fire alarm Tuesday evening at 19:12 in the 500 block of Evansburg Road, in the township. Additional information from the Montgomery County Emergency Operations Center reported the homeowners alarm company made contact with a person at the home, confirming the need for the fire department before being disconnected. The alarm company reported alarms coming from the smoke and heat detectors in the basement. Once evacuated from the home, the homeowner called the 911 Operations Center and confirmed a fire in the basement.

Deputy 86 arrived on scene at 19:14, established command and declared a working structure fire. Ladder 86 (with the Battalion) arrived on scene at 19:15 and stretched a two inch line to the basement. Chief 86 arrived on scene at 19:20 and command was transferred accordingly. Command declared the fire under control at 19:42.

Additional Skippack Fire Company units on scene included; Squad (with the Captain), Tanker (with the Lieutenant) and Utility 86. Assisting on scene were: Skippack Emergency Medical Services, Lower Providence Community Center Ambulance, Collegeville Fire Company, Perkiomen Township Fire Company, Lower Providence Township Fire Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.

All Skippack Fire Company units returned to the station by 21:52. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
