On July 11th and 25th Skippack firefighters will be conducting live burns in the newly renovated burn building behind the station near the Skippack trail at 7 pm. The public is welcome to observe from the parking lot where an officer will be available to answer your questions.

In 1976, Skippack Fire Company decided to construct its own training building. The training facility consists of a 40-foot high structure, which contains four floors and a crawl space area. Each floor is 15 feet by 30 feet. With the exception of laying block, the building was constructed in its entirety by its active members. The members worked every Thursday night and every weekend for a whole year during the construction of the building. The members procured many supplies and materials. The structure was completed in 1978 at a cost totaling $17,144. This training building, with the new SCBA and training supplied by the Montgomery County Fire School, allowed Skippack Fire Company to make the transition into interior firefighting operations.

This year Skippack Fire Company did many needed repairs on the burn building including lining the ceilings with metal, replacing and repairing staircases and fixing the windows.
