On Thursday morning, just after 7 am, Skippack firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in Lower Providence. Then, on Thursday evening, around 6:15 pm, they were dispatched as RIT, the firefighter rescue team, for another building fire in Whitpain. Upon returning to the station, firefighters moved on to their scheduled training on radio communication skills. Working as a team, one group described the instructions to build small block toys, while the rest of their team built the toys using only radio communications. This training emphasizes clear communications, proper radio usage and teamwork. Just after midnight Skippack firefighters were dispatched to a commercial building fire in Skippack village pictured here. Squad 86 just returned from a RIT response in Worcester Township, 7 calls and counting since our early wakeup call yesterday morning. |
