With the change to daylight saving time, today is a great day to check your smoke detectors and CO alarms. Smoke detectors last for 10 years and should be placed on every level of your home and in every bedroom. CO alarms last for 7 years and should be placed on every level of your home, near bedrooms, and away from fuel-burning appliances. The date of manufacture is most often found on the base of the alarm, but if your alarm is yellowed like the picture on the left it is certainly in need of replacement. Don't forget to test the alarms and replace the batteries. Make sure your home and family are protected by these inexpensive devices. |
