Skippack Fire Company was dispatched as a cover company supporting local fire operations in Pottstown due to structure fires in two neighboring homes. Most of the crew was returning to the station after attending the FHY Rodeo in Skippack. Before leaving for the Pottstown station, they were instructed to proceed directly to the scene instead. Upon arrival, firefighters immediately went into service, cutting holes in the roof to help with access to the attic fire. Conditions were challenging due to hoarding at the residence. After a brief period of rest, the crew resumed efforts to extinguish the fire in the attic from the neighboring house. They were released from the scene around 2 a.m. and returned to the station to restore equipment and begin washing their bunker gear, returning to their homes around 3 am.
