Since Friday afternoon Skippack firefighters have been very busy with

2 field fires in Whitemarsh
1 motorcycle accident
1 accident with a car off the road (pictured here)
1 CO alarm
1 gas leak
1 unauthorized outdoor fire

Please take care to prevent fires as they will continue to spread rapidly. Many brush and field fires have occurred in Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Berks Counties over the past few days. The burn ban currently in place prohibits any open burning of any kind outside, this includes fireworks. With the current drought conditions the burn ban is likely to be in place for quite some time.

Make sure your smoke and CO alarms have good batteries and remember that CO alarms expire after 7 years and smoke detectors expire after 10 years.
